| WE SERVE A BIG GOD!! Do you ever have times when you feel you don't have what it takes? Well, truthfully, you don't have what it takes in yourself, but with God you have everything! I have been reminded many times that I'm an imperfect person, but when I start to feel sorry for myself, God reminds me that "with my many imperfections, He still loves me and isn't finished with me...imperfection is not an excuse to quit." As I reflect on this, I am reminded of all the men and women in the Bible who God loved, who were imperfect people, but didn't use imperfection as an excuse to quit. They allowed God to shine through them to glorify Him. Too often we think "I don't have what it takes" or "I'm not skilled enough" or "I don't have the gift" or "I'm not good enough"...or...we use the excuse that "someone else can do it better" or "I don't have time" or "I'm retired...I'm too old" or I'm too young." Think of all the people in the Bible who thought they were too old (Abraham) or not skilled enough (Moses) or not good enough (Rahab) or too young (Samuel or David)...BUT...they were willing to be used by God no matter their age, skills, or gifts...and that made ALL the difference. Not only were miraculous things accomplished, but lives were changed...not only for the person for whom the deed was done, but the person through whom God worked...AND, think of the encouragement they give us today as we read of their willing perseverance. Is there something God wants you to do for Him? Is there someone to whom He wants you to speak? Is there a word of encouragement you need to give? Is there something in which He wants you to be involved? Go ahead...take the plunge. God has already prepared the way and He will be right there with you...all the way! Let's not limit God with our excuses...allow God to work through you to glorify Him! "I can do everything through Him who gives me strength!"
