"Most of my adult life has been in a business career in the apparel industry. Nineteen years ago God called me into the ministry, so Cheryll and I moved to Colorado Springs and went back to school to get my BA degree in Biblical Studies. While in school I served as Children's Pastor for East borough Nazarene Church.
After graduation the Hanover Church of the Nazarene called us to Mechanicsville Virginia. We served there for five wonderful years and enjoyed watching a church catch the fire of God as they allowed themselves to be transformed into the church God intended.
From there God moved us to Longmont Colorado and the wonderful people of the Longmont Church of the Nazarene. We enjoyed serving there for almost five years. From there we moved back to the Northwest where I served as an interim pastor for the great Gooding Church of the Nazarene in Gooding Idaho.
In October 2006 God moved us to this fantastic community and the Cheney Church of the Nazarene. We are experiencing great days since our arrival and look forward to many years of working with this terrific staff in helping people fall in love with Jesus and watching all of us grow in our walk with God. "Children have been a huge part of my life since I started teaching them at the Othello Nazarene Church at the age of 17. For the past 29 years I was involved in all aspects of children's ministry becoming daycare director in 1999 and, after God's call to the ministry in 2001, becoming children's pastor in 2004. I was ordained in 2007."
In 2008 God presented me with the gift of this wonderful church and family ministry here at Cheney Nazarene. I am ecstatic to serve this church as family pastor and am excited to see what He's going to do next!
Pastor Dave Edwards
In 1985 I entered into full time ministry. I served as an associate pastor of youth and music in Longview Washington 1985-86; Cheney Washington 1986-91; and Fremont California; 1991-2000. While in California, I earned my Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology and since moving back to Cheney Washington in the summer of 2001 I have worked as a marriage and family therapist.
It is a privilege to serve as the Worship Pastor and worshipping Jesus Christ with our church family here at Cheney Nazarene.
Youth Pastors Jon and Sabrina Block
Jon and Sabrina grew up in Cheney in the Nazarene Church and graduated from Cheney High School. They became full time Youth Pastors on March 1, 2009.
Jon worked as the Assistant Youth Pastor since August of 2007. He was called into youth ministry when he was a senior in high school. He followed his call by becoming a youth sponsor while attending his first year at Eastern Washington University. Following his first year, he went to Northwest Nazarene University to study ministry. During his year there, he felt God calling him home where he transferred online for school to Nazarene Bible College.
Sabrina felt Gods' calling to ministry while in high school as well and pursued this call after graduation at Northwest Nazarene University. She spent two years there until she felt God calling her back to Cheney, where she is going to school online at Nazarene Bible College.
Jon and Sabrina got married the following winter and are now the happy Youth Pastors of Cheney Church of the Nazarene.
